A number of families including the Daniels’s, Cunningham’s, Tierney’s and McMyler’s came from Counties Mayo and Galway to this parish 50 years ago this year. To mark this anniversary, a tree was planted on the school grounds. Mary Delaney said a few words to commemorate her ancestors and Fr. Oliver gave a blessing. The children also completed family trees some going back 4 or 5 generations.
